So Romantic

Hi Everyone!
So this week's challenge with the Kraft Journal is : So Romantic.
As some of you may know, I'm not really the romantic type of cardmaker so I did the best I could under the circumstances. lol
I love this image by ADFD, kind of art nouveau  romantic. I colored her with my usual prismas and lyras on kraft. It's a bit of a quirky color combination, I'll admit it, but it felt right at the time and made sense. Now? Well, I'm trying not to think too hard on it.  It is puzzling. lol.

Colors: Lyras and Prismacolors
Papers: DCWV

Card Candy: Joanna Sheen

Thanks for visiting and I hope you get some crafting time in this week!

LOve Is In The Air...Sneak Peak

So Guess What?
I got a really sweet email from the owner of Precious Remembrance Shop asking if I would like to Guest Design for the month of February! How awesome is that! I am going to be working with the stamp set you see above so you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for these sweet little sentiments in the weeks to come!
If you would like to purchase a set of these awesome sentiments for yourself you can find them here on her etsy shop.
If you're out and about you'll be seeing my Feb projects on the Precious Remembrance blog as well as their new FB page.
Stay tuned!

New Baby

Hi Again!
The challenge this week at Mo's Digital Pencil is:
"All Your Favorite Things"
This is a lot of fun. It can be your favorite colors, favorite supplies, favorite subject matter or all of the above.
I am using my favorite colors, with my favorite coloring medium, and favorite embellies: buttons, twine and bunting. And punches. All the good stuff.
I made this card for a baby shower. It was such a perfect image. You can find it here.

Colors: Prismas and Lyras

Every Princess Has To Kiss a Few Frogs

Good morning!
I saw this image at ADFD and just loved the whimsy of it. So much fun!
I decided it would make a fabulous "tongue in cheek" engagement card.

Isn't that frog the cutest?
Recipe:
Image: ADFD "Promises Promises"
Lace, ribbon: Sew Sweet
Buckle: Spellbinder's die
Punch: Martha Stewart

And below, a stamp that has nothing to do with frogs or princesses but one that I thought was really adorable anyway.

That's it for today!
I'll be back tomorrow with a new Mo challenge for you!
Have a great day :)

Thanks

Hi Guys!
You know, Thank You cards are like Sympathy cards. You never know when you'll need one and chances are when you need one you won't have one. Today's project I had to produce at fairly short notice but thankfully I had the image already colored and could grab my handy 6x6 paper packs, already color coordinated for me. :)

Colors: Lyras and Prismas
Twine: Honeydew

Your Kindness Warms My Heart

Hi Guys!
Can you believe I actually made this card today and am posting it? Lately Ive been working about three weeks ahead so this seems so strange to me. And yet I feel so efficient cos its not cluttering up my drafts.
Anyway, I thought I'd better color up this little guy while it was still "winter" though we have seen precious little in the way of winter this year and no white stuff at all. Doesn't seem like winter without snow. But if I was in South Africa it would probably be 90 degrees and yet winter....strange..
Today is about 60 degrees and rainy. And thats another thing we haven't seen much of ~ rain . My poor ducks.:(  But I'm not going to go on and on talking about the weather cos then you'd know I've been married to my British hubby an awwwwwwwful long time! lol
Back to the card!
Another first for me:
Lace doily.
hmmmmmmm..not sure. I think lace doilies should have a cup of tea and cookie on them, but it does add...something.

Recipe:
Colors: Prismacolors and Lyras

A few challenges:
Crafting for all Seasons - snowmen/snowflakes

Hugs And Squeezes

Hi Guys!
Today I'm back with a challenge reminder. for Bunny Zoe's challenge blog.
The challenge started a week ago but as its a monthly challenge there's still plenty of time to play along.
Check out the beautiful picture we have to inspire us:

So does this wee wittle wabbit wook familiar??
Does it remind you of  our Bunny Zoe mascot? Yup! The very same!
Don't you just want to squeeeeeeeeeze that wabbit? Well Zoe obviously does judging from poor wabbits tummy and queazy face. lol OK, he doesn't look queazy, I'm embellishing..... but I'm a crafter thats what I do!!  lol

Recipe:
Colors: prismacolors and lyras on kraft
Papers: Cosmo Cricket "Social Club", MME " Happier"

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Just a Note

Hi Guys!
So do you feel any older now that we're in 2012?  I don't.  Well maybe a few days older. Practicing immaturity always helps. lol
Speaking of which, this week at The Catered Crop we are being sponsored by the fabulous Jellypark! Yay! In case you're not familiar with Claire's images you should check them out. Jellypark is the first stopping ground for getting in touch with your inner child. Her images are so quirky and fun.
So, without further delay, the recipe swap this week at the Catered Crop is:

Buttons!
And you all know how much I loooove buttons!
So why, you may wonder,  do I only have one button on my card if that's the challenge and I love them so much?
Well  psssst...come here.  I'll let you in on a little secret. I got so engrossed in my cardmaking I forgot what challenge I was working on til I finished it. Thankfully I happened to have a little button on there but by now I had busied my card up so much I didn't want to over clutter with yet more plastic madness.

Recipe:
Image: Jellypark
Papers: Cosmo Cricket "Material Girl" and October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker".
Colors: Lyras and Prismas on Kraft cardstock
Button: Sew Sweet
Flower: scavenged
Clip: from stash

So I hope you all can join in on our challenge this fortnight!
See you around Blogland!

Because I Care

Hi Everyone!
So for today's Spotlight Wednesday at A Day For Daisies I am spotlighting two of Tammy's gorgeous Mother images. The first is a stamp called "Two Girls with Mom".
I went pretty clean and simple with it. Just thought it mirrored the serenity pictured here.

Recipe:
Image: ADFD
Colors: Prismas and lyras
Paper: Kraft colored cardstock (Kraft Outlet) and MME Stella &Rose Gertie papers
Twine: Sew Sweet

And the second project I used Tammy's image "Little One" for a gift tag to go on a present for a pregnant friend of mine.

Are you curious to know what was in the present?
I'm no genius at wrapping presents btw...lol

My daughter and I took turns crocheting rows on this granny square afghan, so its a gift from both of us to their new baby boy.
(I kinda cheated with the color scheme. I looked through their gift registry ...)

So I hope Ive inspired you with a little something today!
Happy Crafting!

Baking With Mum

Well I have some awesome news!
This month, along with GDing for A Day For Daisies,  I have the awesome privilege of joining the crew at the Kraft Journal for the month of January ! Isn't that sweet of them to let me crash their party?
Yay! This is going to be so much fun! Kraft paper and ADFD images, what a perfect mix!
So this week's challenge at the Kraft Journal is :
Your Favorite Colors
Since these are my "comfort crafting colors" I take them to be my favorite. :-)
My image is from A Day For Daisies and the papers are part of a gorgeous pack by October Afternoon, called "Modern Homemaker". I found it at Hobby Lobby but I'm sure you can buy it online, too. They're just perfect for this country kitchen style page.
The twine can be found here at the Kraft Outlet and the ribbon is from Sew Sweet.

And oh! This pie is to die for! Ok, that would rather defeat the purpose but you know what I mean. :)
Trust me, you'll love it!
I generally make my own crust (see recipe below) but I've also bought  Gluten Free pie shells before, made with rice flour (when my sister is pogging with me) and its come out just fine.
